Get to know…Seaweed and Penny

We spoke to loves young dream Annalise Liard-Bailey (Penny) and Layton Williams (Seaweed) to find out who inspired them to become performers, their favourite dance moves and what they would tell their teenage self.
Who/what inspired you to become a performer?
Layton: A mixture of Michael Jackson and The Spice Girls.
Annalise: My Nanny was a tap dancer/performer and used to make me sing and dance for her at a very young age of two.
Do you have any pre-show/backstage habits?
Layton: I like to chill (when possible) so I can save my energy for the stage.
Annalise: I cleanse my face and always cream my hands before I go on. Also, I always tighten my show buckles or laces just in case.
What is your dressing room essential?
Layton: I love order and I always arrive in a venue to set-up my space. Toothpaste is essential so that Penny gets fresh breath!
Annalise: Cream. Room Spray. Wet Wipes. Hairbrush. Lip Balm. Family photos.
At school, were you one of the nicest kids in town or were you more likely to be in detention?
Layton: 100% in detention!!
Annalise: I was very cheeky at school and managed to worm my way out of trouble but I was always involved somehow!
What is your favourite dance move?
Layton: A split or a flip.
Annalise: The ripple for sure!
What was your favourite TV show when you were a teenager?
Layton: America’s next top model
Annalise: F.R.I.E.N.D.S
What would you say to your younger self?
Layton: Keep on slaying boo!
Annalise: Forget about what people think of you. Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve. Follow your heart, it always leads you home. Get ripped!
Describe hairspray in three words?
Layton: Big. Bold. Proud.
Annalise: Inspirational, romantic and life changing.
