20/10/17

We spoke to loves young dream Annalise Liard-Bailey (Penny) and Layton Williams (Seaweed) to find out who inspired them to become performers, their favourite dance moves and what they would tell their teenage self.

Who/what inspired you to become a performer?

Layton: A mixture of Michael Jackson and The Spice Girls.

Annalise: My Nanny was a tap dancer/performer and used to make me sing and dance for her at a very young age of two.

Do you have any pre-show/backstage habits?

Layton: I like to chill (when possible) so I can save my energy for the stage.

Annalise: I cleanse my face and always cream my hands before I go on. Also, I always tighten my show buckles or laces just in case.

What is your dressing room essential?

Layton: I love order and I always arrive in a venue to set-up my space. Toothpaste is essential so that Penny gets fresh breath!

Annalise: Cream. Room Spray. Wet Wipes. Hairbrush. Lip Balm. Family photos.

At school, were you one of the nicest kids in town or were you more likely to be in detention?

Layton: 100% in detention!!

Annalise: I was very cheeky at school and managed to worm my way out of trouble but I was always involved somehow!

What is your favourite dance move?

Layton: A split or a flip.

Annalise: The ripple for sure!

What was your favourite TV show when you were a teenager?

Layton: America’s next top model

Annalise: F.R.I.E.N.D.S

What would you say to your younger self?

Layton: Keep on slaying boo!

Annalise: Forget about what people think of you. Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve. Follow your heart, it always leads you home. Get ripped!

Describe hairspray in three words?

Layton: Big. Bold. Proud.

Annalise: Inspirational, romantic and life changing.
