Set and Costume Design

Takis is a performance designer working internationally, designing a wide range of productions; musicals, theatre, opera, ballet/dance, concerts and film.

He has worked for Companies including: English Touring Opera, London National Theatre, Old Vic, New Vic, Queen Elisabeth Hall, Barbican, Curve, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Theatre Royal Brighton, The National Youth Music Theatre, Royal & Derngate, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Frankfurt Opera House, The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, Haugesund Theater (Norway), Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, Hampton Court Palace, Rambert Dance Company, as well as Bush, Soho, Mercury, Sherman & Citizens Theatres amongst others.

His nominations include four Off West End Awards for Set Design. Takis’ work has been exhibited at the Design Museums in London and Helsinki and the Bucharest Modern Art Museum.

Takis studied Scenography at the Romanian National University of Arts in Bucharest and continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art on the Theatre Technical Arts Course. He undertook practice based research at London College of Fashion, researching new methodologies of design and he is currently completing his Doctoral research at Aalto University.

Currently he is designing a ballet world premiere for the Finnish National Opera, the transfer of the In the Heights and Oliver for Curve.
