Paul is formerly Artistic Director at Curve Theatre Leicester

Paul has directed many of the musical works by Stephen Sondheim including Follies, Company, Sweeney Todd, Pacific Overtures, Into The Woods and Merrily We Roll Along.

Other musicals include Mack and Mabel, The Rink, Damn Yankees, West Side Story, on Your Toes, Rent, The Wizard Of Oz, The Rocky Horror Show, 70 Girls 70 and Calamity Jane. Musicals directed at Curve include the European premiere of The Light in the Piazza, 42nd Street, The King and I (and UK Tour) Gypsy, Oliver!, Hello Dolly! and Chicago

Plays he has directed include: The Beauty Queen of Leeane, Piaf, Entertaining Mr Sloane, The Pillowman, The Lieutenant of Inishmore and Absurd Person Singular (all Curve); The Cripple of Inishmann by Martin McDonagh, The Playboy of the Western World, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Plough and the Stars by Sean O’ Casey, Dolly West’s Kitchen by Frank McGuiness, Richard III, Breaking the Code by Hugh Whitemore, Macbeth, East by Steven Berkoff, Edward II with Eddie Izzard and Single Spies by Alan Bennett (all Haymarket Theatre, Leicester)

He has directed productions for Chichester Festival Theatre, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Manchester Library Theatre and the Dublin Gaiety.
